Connection fields two teams at Feltre's 24 Hours Race: stories and goals.

Connection did more than just make its cycling debut as the title sponsor of the renowned Feltre’s 24 Hours. The company went a step further by fielding two teams: the Blue team, competing in the Charity category, and the White team. Their goal was to raise funds for the “Diamo Energia al Nostro Domani” (Powering Our Tomorrow) project.

The Blue team took second on the Charity leaderboard, completing 472 laps on Feltre’s “hellish loop.” This translated into a €4,720 donation, with the company contributing €10 for every single lap.

The Tutti in Battuta project

This initiative is a local commitment to support vulnerable members of our community through sports. The first project, called ‘Tutti in Battuta’ is dedicated to a small group of children with neurodevelopmental disorders cared for by ‘La Nostra Famiglia’. These childhood conditions can cause challenges with focus, communication, social interaction as well as learning.

The goal is to help these children experience and play sports – specifically volleyball – alongside their peers on the Pallavolo San Vendemiano teams, bringing therapy directly into the gym. Click here to learn more and support this great cause.

We also launched another charity initiative: having one of our team jerseys signed by the incredible champions at the event, which will be auctioned off in the coming weeks to raise additional funds. The jersey was autographed by Daniel Oss, Mattia Casse, Paolo Belli, event ambassador Francesca Lollobrigida, Elia Barp, Fabio Aru, Alessandro Ballan, Paolo Kessisoglu, Sonny Colbrelli, Michael Rogers, Paolo Bettini, Jeffrey Rosanelli, Peter Sagan, and Federico Pellegrino.
In short, it’s a must-have.

In gara anche il capo.

All members of the two Connection teams enthusiastically embraced the event. It proved to be a fantastic opportunity to forge new connections for the Treviso-based company. Headquartered in San Vendemiano -the hometown of Alessandro Del Piero – Connection specializes in the design and manufacturing of industrial electrical panels.

Guided by the experience of former pro Angelo Furlan, even Connection’s CEO, Roberto Zuccaro, geared up and jumped into the action. He put on an impressive show: averaging 31.17 km/h over 35 laps. That is no small feat for a beginner who only started training in January, right after committing to the Feltre 24-Hour project. Perhaps his background as an amateur soccer goalkeeper and runner gave him the competitive edge he needed for this new challenge.

Michele Dal Borgo (born in 1980) and familiar face Angelo Furlan completed the most laps for the Blue team, racking up 47 each. Meanwhile, the fastest lap in the friendly rivalry between the two Connection teams was clocked by Christian Bassani at 2:29, closely followed by Nicola Breda at 2:31, with Simone Borsoi and Angelo Furlan both crossing the line at 2:32.

The Blue team also featured standout performances from two young talents, Simone Degano and Filippo Tach (both born in 2008), alongside veteran rider Michele Corrocher (born in 1966). When building the lineups, priority was given to employees, suppliers and close partners, with friends and new connections joining the mix to complete the roster.

Employees and executives

The local cycling club, San Vendemiano Velo Club, – already sponsored by Connection – played a vital role in bringing the two teams together. The roster featured employee-cyclists like Sara Girardi, Alberto Cescon and Simone Gensano, alongside company accountant Fausto Salvador. Even Communications Manager Romina Bernard dived headfirst into the adventure. She stepped in as team manager for the weekend and introduced us to the riders before getting completely swept up in the joyful madness of Feltre’s 24 Hours herself.

“In the end, the 24 Hours is just pure masochism, but you still want to do another lap immediately,” says Blue team rider Marzio Da Ros (born in 1972) with a smile. Others showed incredible resilience as well: Christian Bassani got right back up after a crash as if nothing had happened, and Sara Girardi was back on the track minutes after getting stung on the face by a bee.

“Keeping up with Peter Sagan for a couple of laps was a massive win for me,” said Nicola Breda, still thrilled. A wonderful bond formed between the two Connection teams, fueled by a super-active WhatsApp group called ‘Connection Warriors’.
