Roberto Zuccaro - Founder and CEO of Connection
The foundation
Connection was founded in February 1999 in Conegliano, from an idea by Roberto Zuccaro and a friend. It all began in a garage, fueled by the dreams, boldness, and enthusiasm typical of one’s twenties. It was there that the first production of electrical control panels took shape.
A few months later, those dreams found space in a larger facility: moving from the garage to a warehouse in Codognè, the first step of an entrepreneurial dream destined to grow.
The first technological advancement
2006 marked a fundamental milestone in the history of Connection, with the integration of electrical CAD with automatic wire processing machines. Thanks to this innovation, it became possible to virtually assemble the control panel before actual production, improving precision and efficiency. This was the first step toward defining a proprietary and cutting-edge working methodology that still distinguishes the company today.
New headquarters open: more space for innovation
Connection chose a new headquarters in San Vendemiano. This decision was driven by the pace of growth and the need for a larger workspace.
The New Automatic Line
Connection’s growth continues steadily, driven by a focus on technological innovation and process efficiency. In 2009, a new automatic line for wire processing was introduced, a key implementation for the wiring department.
During those years, the electrical sector was in full expansion. Growing industrial automation, combined with new European regulations and the development of renewables, caused the demand for advanced electrical panels and wiring to take off.
The adoption of the automatic line allowed Connection to meet these new requirements with higher quality, speed, and reliability, strengthening its market position.
Introduction of iPads
and a New Proprietary App
Connection introduced the iPad into production, accompanied by a custom-developed proprietary app. From a simple information channel, the app evolved into a complete work tool—an integrated system with the management software capable of distributing data, collecting feedback, reporting anomalies, and even blocking critical production steps in real time.
Everything is designed to make the process fluid, secure, and replicable. This innovation stems from the vision of Roberto, who has always been attentive to innovation and digitalization, convinced that true value lies in creating the conditions for people to work at their best.
The wiring department expands with a third line
The efficiency of Connection’s production process continued with the installation of the third automatic line for wire processing. The wiring department thus became a specialized area capable of providing wires ready for assembly in electrical panels.
UL Certification: Reliability and safety
certified globally
Connection obtained certification as a Qualified Manufacturer for UL Marked Articles, guaranteeing products that comply with international safety standards and are recognized globally.
This recognition represents a decisive step in consolidating the company’s reputation and credibility in international markets.
Quality Management
System Certification
Connection obtained the Quality Management System certification, which ensures that all our processes are oriented toward continuous improvement, efficiency, and error reduction.
Technological Growth
By decision of Roberto Zuccaro, Connection concentrated its efforts on obtaining all necessary certifications in the field of electrical panel production. This was a necessary step to certify the quality of the work performed daily on a large scale, but also an important mark of esteem that became a source of pride for the entire company.
THE NEW DIMENSION OF
PROGRESS: FROM 2D TO 3D
A significant turning point in electrical panel design for Connection occurred in 2017 with the introduction of EPLAN Pro Panel electrical CAD. While continuing to use traditional 2D design with SEE Electrical Expert (IGE+XAO), the integration of the new 3D CAD allowed for more precise calculation of depths and spaces, improving work quality and further raising company standards.

System Certification
The Occupational Health and Safety Management System certification, achieved in 2018, is proof of our concrete commitment to the protection, safety, and well-being of our collaborators.
Connection expands
and modernizes the facility
Connection modernized and expanded its headquarters with a focus on structural, aesthetic, and energy improvements. The interventions on the warehouse included optimizing the layout of workstations, as well as creating a safe and functional industrial floor. To complete the work, energy efficiency solutions were introduced with the goal of creating a more modern working environment.
Integration of
Modula Warehouses
In 2021, Connection decided to rely on Modula to improve its intralogistics and make processes smarter and more organized.
The introduction of the first three robotic vertical warehouses allowed for the optimization of available space and more efficient management of time, materials, and resources. This intervention represents a further step in the journey started by Roberto Zuccaro since the foundation. The goal is to make Connection’s production process completely digitalized and distinctive.
The project was completed in 2023 with the installation of the fourth warehouse, thus closing the intralogistics automation project.
The New
Photovoltaic System
The plant was equipped with a photovoltaic system capable of powering heating and air conditioning across the entire company surface. An innovative intervention that ensures operational continuity and comfortable working environments year-round. Once again, an important step in our sustainability journey.
The fourth automatic line
and ISO 14001
The wiring department was completed with the installation of the fourth production line, achieved through an investment in a new state-of-the-art machine. In the same year, the company obtained the Environmental Management System certification, confirming its commitment to sustainability.
The New Plant in
Via Celtica
In 2024, the Via Celtica plant opened to meet the need for expanded production space. Large-scale and high-power single-batch electrical panel production is concentrated here, while serial production of small and medium-sized panels continues at the Via Padania plant. The two sites are fully interconnected through a digital infrastructure that allows for traceability, planning, and real-time updates.
Connection's 25th Anniversary
and the Energia 25 Project
2024 marks 25 years of Connection.
To celebrate this important milestone, Roberto Zuccaro, together with Sabrina Dario, his life partner since 2000, launched the Energia 25 project. The initiative was born from the idea of giving a voice to the 25 people who contributed to the company’s growth, supported the Founder, and made Connection’s successful journey possible.
